Poem for #41

Your soul is a playground
I’m enchanted by you
Your eyes melt the ground below my feet
When they accompany your blissful smile

In a room of crowded bodies and flashing lights
Your gaze locked time

The most gentle note of affection I have received
Came from your flowery fingertips

Your rooftop and the full moon became my savior
From bad hallucinations, psych wards and confetti

I waited in an air of candy tension for you to kiss me
But our exchanges were only in gifts

Rose quartz for you
Poetry for me

The vitality of the hours I have spent with you
Sometimes keeps my heart hopefully beating

In another life, you fly me away to the fantastical world
That our minds can build in harmony

In this sour life though, where the cruel clock mocks us
We are separate and unknown to each other

In my fantasy, you hold my hand with confidence
In reality, I miss what we never explored
