Poem for #2

As children you chased me around the farm
You washed grease from my fingertips
Holding my hand as I cleaned the dog pens
You followed me on your bike
I ran you over with my toy jeep
You were endlessly patient with me
I tolerated you

As we grew older the attraction changed
You were tense at the sight of me
Holding your heart in your hands, free for me
You declared you were in love
I told you that I didn’t care
You waited for me to come along
I grew to like you some

As the sun set on one summer evening
You asked me for a little kiss
Holding the barn door open, I came in
You set me on stacks of hay
I closed my eyes and waited for you
You pressed your lips upon mine, gently
I gave my lips to you

As we sat there in the barn with lips close
You wanted it to go further
Holding my cheek in your hand, you pushed in
You slipped your tongue in my mouth
I opened my mouth and returned you
You sighed and released your grip from me
I smiled and left for home

As time passed you waited for more kisses
You would drive me to school, daily
Holding my hand on the ride, wanting more
You paused when you let me go
I never got to kiss you again
You ended up married with two kids
I tolerated that
