I selfishly wait
For your return
Though I pushed you out
I cannot deny
The piece of me
Shaped like you
I attempted to break into your library
Of feelings
Dog ear my page
Kiss me on the neck and make me smile
Laugh and roll your eyes
Be intoxicated by our disgusting attraction
Unwind the fear from your heart
Let loose
We can be ok
Talk to me endlessly
All day
About nothing
Show me all of your world
Take me to your home
Carry me to mine.
Start over
Rebuild
Reconnect
Go back
Come back
You are incredible
I am foolish
I am touched by you
I still miss you
Every day
An experiment in poetry and a reflection on love. From innocent childhood romances to painful, grown, unrequited love, I am attempting to share the depth to which each one touched me. The waters move from shallow to deep quickly and without warning and the ocean is still expanding, yet to be sealed with the solid permanence of lifetime commitment. …Well, there was that one time, but we divorced 2 years later…

Poem for #57 - Poem 4
My mistake
Plagues your mind
Your desires
Deny you something beautiful
I have broken the flow
Of what is
Or was
Broken shards
They are not so small
That we cannot
Pick them up
Find matching parts
What I cannot imagine
Is your reality
Plagues your mind
Your desires
Deny you something beautiful
I have broken the flow
Of what is
Or was
Broken shards
They are not so small
That we cannot
Pick them up
Find matching parts
What I cannot imagine
Is your reality
Poem for #57 - Poem 3
The image of your arms
Wrapped around my legs
Tossed on your shoulder
Unforgettable
The seductive tension
Of waiting for you
To get off of work
Undeniable
Teasing you with words
A lunchtime rendezvous
We’ll meet for dinner and dessert
Insatiable
Wrapped around my legs
Tossed on your shoulder
Unforgettable
The seductive tension
Of waiting for you
To get off of work
Undeniable
Teasing you with words
A lunchtime rendezvous
We’ll meet for dinner and dessert
Insatiable
Poem for #57 - Poem 2
I did not expect you
Walking down the beach
Towards me
I met and resisted your temptation
Dancing over shells
Childish avoidance of you
No calamity of war
When you steal kisses
Affectionate glances
No time has passed
My hand is in yours
We are a pair
I let you break in
Walking down the beach
Towards me
I met and resisted your temptation
Dancing over shells
Childish avoidance of you
No calamity of war
When you steal kisses
Affectionate glances
No time has passed
My hand is in yours
We are a pair
I let you break in
Poem for #57 - Poem 1
I am a wild, unbound soldier
You, a tactful peacemaker
My past, saturated with destruction
Fantastical tragedy
I walked alone, unattached to chaos
Hurling towards me
I met you with unstoppable force
Between me and the world
I thought impenetrable
You easily broke through
No struggle
I am bitter, stubborn and jaded
In your presence
I uncontrollably smile
Your charm is captivating
A sturdy hero
Finding his damsel
Scarred from war
Touching through my barriers
You saw me
You stayed
You, a tactful peacemaker
My past, saturated with destruction
Fantastical tragedy
I walked alone, unattached to chaos
Hurling towards me
I met you with unstoppable force
Between me and the world
I thought impenetrable
You easily broke through
No struggle
I am bitter, stubborn and jaded
In your presence
I uncontrollably smile
Your charm is captivating
A sturdy hero
Finding his damsel
Scarred from war
Touching through my barriers
You saw me
You stayed
